Ms Alexandra Preda
Alexandra Preda is a junior researcher currently working on Eastern European neo-avant-garde art movements after 1945, particularly on Romanian neo-Byzantinism and the mail art network during the 1980s. Her research regarding Romanian artists during the communist regime took shape during her MA in Historical Studies pursued at Central European University in Budapest. She also has a background in Romanian studies, literary theory and comparative literature developed during her graduate studies at the Faculty of Letters, University of Bucharest. Her projects investigate the tension between artists’ self-representation and the narratives emerging from official archival material.
