Žilvinė Gaižutytė-Filipavičienė

In 1998 she received MA in Art History and Criticism from Vytautas Magnus University (Kaunas). In 2003 she has received scholarship and conducted research at the School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences (École des hautes études en sciences sociales,EHESS) in Paris. She defended PhD dissertation, titled “The Problem of Social in Artistic Production: Pierre Bourdieu’s Sociology of Art and its Reception” [Art Criticism, Art History], at the Vilnius Academy of Arts in December of 2004. Since 2005, she has been working as a junior and since 2008 as a senior researcher in the Departmentof Comparative Cultural Studies at the Lithuanian Culture Research Institute (LCRI). 2005-2012 she was lecturer in the Department of Social Sciences at the Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences (Vilnius). Since 2013 she is lecturer in the Creative Society and Economy Institute at the Kazimieras Simonavičius University (Vilnius).
