Bent Boel is Associate Professor in International Studies, Department of Culture and Global Studies, Aalborg University (since 2004). Previously he has been Assistant/Associate Professor in French history and politics as well as Associate Professor in European Studies at Aalborg University (1998-2004). He defended his Ph.D. in history at the University of Copenhagen after a three-year stay at the European University Institute in Florence, Italy. He, moreover, has a MA in history, a BA in Cinema studies and is Diplomé de l'Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris. Boel has written the book The European Productivity Agency and Transatlantic Relations, 1953-1961, Museum Tusculanum Press (Copenhagen 2003) as well as articles about French foreign policy, Transatlantic relations, European cooperation and Western contacts with Soviet Bloc dissidents during the Cold War.
