Graduated from the University of Trieste with a degree in History. Following research conducted in Hungary in 1989, 1991 and 1996, doctoral degree at the University of Padova in 1999. From 1999 to 2001 teacher of Szent László (Saint Ladislaus) High School in Budapest and in 2000 and 2001 lector at the Department of Italian studies in the University of Pécs. Since then in the University of Udine, first as a junior research fellow (2001-2004) and then as a research fellow (2005 to present). Member of the Italian Society for Eastern European Studies (AISSECO) and of the leading committee of the Scientific Center for Hungarian and Central European Studies (CISUECO). Main areas of research include Hungarian History, History of Hungarian-Italian diplomatic relations as well as the memory and cultural heritage of World War I in East-Central Europe, Jewish History in the Carpathian Basin from Enlightment to Holocaust.
