I have just completed my dissertation in the field of East European history at the University of Greifswald. My dissertation has been devoted the Intelligentsia, nonconformism, and samizdat in the Belarusian Soviet Socialist Republic between 1968 and 1982. I obtained my first degree in philosophy from the Belarusian State University in Minsk and my Master’s from the European Humanities University, the Belarusian university in Lithuania. I have published articles on memory and identity as well as on the idea and role of intellectuals in contemporary Belarus. I am a recipient of a number of research grants and fellowships, among them are the STIBET fellowship sponsored by DAAD (2017), Visegrad Scholarship at the Open Society Archives (2017), the DFG doctoral scholarship (2013-2016), and the Supplementary Grant of the Open Society Foundation (2013-2014).
