Manuela Putz is historian specialised on the History of Late Soviet Socialism. She studied Eastern European History and Russian Language in Vienna, Moscow and Berlin, graduating with a thesis on Soviet Gulag. From 2008 she worked as research assistant at the Department of History and Culture of the Research Centre for East European Studies in Bremen. After finishing her PhD on Soviet Dissident Culture during Cold War she is currently responsible for various archival projects of the Research Institute's archive, which focus on Samizdat, Alternative Culture and Dissent in Eastern Europe, among them the Russian Art Archives Network (https://russianartarchive.net/en) together with the Garage Museum for Contemporary Art in Moscow.
