Special Issue of the "Historical Journal of Film, Radio and Television" devoted to dissent and dissidents in Central and Eastern European film. Proposals should be submitted by 1 May 2020.

International symposium “Prisms of Silence” in Tallinn
On 21–22 February 2020 the symposium “Prisms of Silence” was held at the Estonian Art Academy in Tallinn. The event brought together artists, curators, art historians and literary and theatre scholars from different countries who sought to rethink the silences about WWII, its aftermath and the Soviet era, and reflected on the present social change that evolves from it.

NEP4Dissent widely represented at 2019 ASEEES Convention in San Francisco
The Association for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies (ASEEES) holds its Annual Convention on 23–26 November 2019 in San Francisco (USA). NEP4Dissent COST Action will be represented by a number of its participants presenting their research and participating in discussions. A special roundtable session will be held where recent NEP4Dissent multi-authored report on the current state of research on oppositional cultures in Eastern Europe (1945-1989) will be presented.
