José M. Faraldo is Associate Professor at the University Complutense of Madrid. He got his PhDs in history at the same university with a work on Russian nationalism. After further studies in history and cultural studies in Moscow, Frankfurt/Oder and Poznań he worked from 1997 to 2002, at the European University Viadrina, in Frankfurt/Oder (Germany). From 2004 to 2008 he was project coordinator at the Center of Research on Contemporary History, (ZZF), in Potsdam (Germany). José has researched extensively about communism, nationalism, European unity, visual and popular culture in former Communist countries and comparative history of fascism and communism, with special attention to resistance.
