Flóra Barkóczi is an art historian working as a researcher and archivist at Artpool Art Research Center in Budapest, Hungary. She studied Art History at the Eötvös Loránd University (Budapest, Hungary) and at the Humboldt Universität zu Berlin. Her research interest includes the conceptual use of photography in the 1970s and contemporary photography; the use of the Internet as a medium and as a tool for networking by artists from the 1990s on; and the approaches of connecting art and technology. She is also interested in the current methodologies of Digital Art History. Her primary focus is the art of the East-Central European region. Since 2012 she participated in organizing several exhibitions contextualizing the art in Hungary during the socialist era. She was a board member of the Studio of Young Photographers between 2016-2017. She is currently working on a research project focusing on Internet based art in Hungary in the 1990s-2000s.
